What is the effect of electroplating surface treatment on metal stamping parts?

After all stamping processes are completed, the metal stamping parts produced by stamping parts manufacturers sometimes need surface treatment according to customer requirements, and electroplating is a very extensive process. So, what role can the electroplating of metal stamping parts play? Let us understand.

The principle of electroplating is to electrolytically deposit metal on the surface of the workpiece through the action of direct current to form a uniform, good sealing, and strong adhesion protective surface, which can prevent metal oxidation (such as corrosion) and improve wear resistance, conductivity, reflectivity, and corrosion Resistance to improve aesthetics.

There are many kinds of electroplating, such as zinc plating, tin plating, nickel plating, chrome plating, copper plating, etc.

After electroplating, metal stamping parts can play a very good decorative effect, while taking into account the performance of the surface protection system, giving different materials decorative.

Function: Plating different materials and new functions, such as high temperature or low temperature resistance, conductivity or insulation, magnetic conductivity or magnetic shielding, light enhancement or reflection, lubrication, biocompatibility or bioexclusivity, etc., to play a new role on the surface.

Repair effect: The surface of metal stamping parts is damaged due to corrosion, wear or other factors. Through single or composite surface treatment technology, the surface dimensional accuracy of stamped parts can be restored. Through redesign, the surface performance and social function of new products can be equivalent to or even better than new products, thereby improving the remanufacturing of workpieces, components or products.

Metal stamping is also called sheet metal stamping, usually at room temperature, sometimes called cold stamping. It is a processing method to use stamping equipment (press) and dies to make various plates or blanks of different specifications deform or separate under pressure for a long time, so as to manufacture parts of various shapes. Cold stamping can be used to process metal materials and non-metal materials. It is widely used in industrial production as well as cutting, casting, electro-machining and other processing methods. Because cold stamping is a processing method with high production efficiency and low cutting volume, it plays a very important role in aviation, automobile, tractor, motor, instrument and other industries. According to preliminary statistics, almost 60% to 75% of parts in the automotive manufacturing industry are manufactured by cold stamping. Among them, the labor volume of cold stamping production accounts for 25% to 30% of the total labor volume of the entire automobile industry. In the production of motors and instruments, 60% to 70% of the parts are completed by cold stamping process. Especially in recent years, due to the research and development of cold extrusion and fine blanking technology, the application range of cold stamping technology has been expanding. In addition, cold stamping in the electronics industry, aircraft, missiles and various parts of the processing also accounted for a large proportion.
